    The game system of Napoleon in the Desert taken to the 1809 campaign between France and Austria. Units are mostly divisions, moving across maps of the battlefield divided into irregular areas according to topography. Seven major battles, seven separate games!Eight maps, four sheets of game pieces. Abensberg 20 April 1809. An epileptic fit seizes the Austrian Archduke Charles, leading to one of Napoleons most impressive victories. Aspern 21-22 May, 1809. Napoleons first defeat, as Charles Austrian army catches the French crossing the Danube. Wagram 5-6 July 1809. The French come back across the Danube onto the Aspern battlefield. A hard, bloody fight ending in a draw. Znaim 9-10 July 1809. The battle the wasnt. Three days after the retreat from Wagram, Charles turns to give battle to the French again. Before fighting could become general, an armistice ended the campaign. Sacile 16 April 1809. An Austrian army led by Frimont and the Archduke John defeats Napoleons stepson Eugene in northern Italy. Piave 8 May 1809. Eugene successfully forces his way across the Piave River in northern Italy, defeating Johns Austrian army. Raab 14 June 1809. Eugene pursues Johns army into Hungary. When the Austrians turn to fight, a bloody battle ends in their narrow defeat. - BoardGameGeek
